Crucial Safety Rules
- Do not cross if water touches rocks: Turn back immediately.
- Never attempt to swim the Sound: Extreme tidal races make water impassable.
- Return walk: Allow 1.5 hours return journey from Outer Head.
- Rapid tidal surge: Water levels rise vertically up to 2.5m per hour (4 cm/min).
